Twenty20 Mendocino is a California based cannabis breeder, and MMXX (the Roman numeral for 20/20) is their namesake strain that speaks to the dank weed you are likely to find in the hills of Mendocino County, California.

When we select strains to grow at Smokey Okie’s, we seek out the best breeders with the most unique seeds and who don’t cut corners and create exceptional strains of high-quality cannabis. MMXX is one of those strains. From the lineage, flavor, experience and potential for benefits, MMXX delivers it all.

MMXX Lineage

MMXX is the love child of Sour Snow x The Whip. It is a clone breed, and much like our Divine Frost strain, Sour Snow has a gassy and frosty kick, and hits hard in the head, bringing with it a sedated effect that you can’t ignore. Both Sour Snow and The Whip were created by Twenty-20 Mendocino, just like their offspring, MMXX, which we have chosen to grow for the reasons described below.

Flavor Profile

MMXX is a good strain for gas lovers. The flavor profile is a unique blend of fruity and dank fuel tastes, with a hint of spice. It’s strong, it’s flavorful and the aroma of fuel fills the air as you begin to feel the effects of all the sticky trichomes that covers the enormous colas of the MMXX plant.

The dominant terpenes present in MMXX are:

  • Terpinolene
This terpene is usually only found in small amounts, but is actually the top terpene found in The Whip, and has an array of aromas and flavors, including herbal notes, florals and citrus flavors. It’s complex, yet satisfying and offers numerous therapeutic benefits.
  • Limonene
Limonene is the second most abundant terpene, but not all strains have it. Limonene brings with it the tropical lemony twist that some describe as sour. This is where you get a hint of citrus in MMXX.
  • Caryophyllene
The spice in MMXX comes from this terpene, which has spicy and peppery notes that compliment the earthy tones with a bit of a kick.
  • Pinene
If you’ve ever smoked a weed that smells or tastes of pine, then it likely had pinene in it. It also can bring undertones of rosemary and orange with it, which many find to be a pleasant combination.
  • Myrcene
Myrcene gives MMXX its earthy flavor. It has an earthy, or sometimes clove or grape flavor, and is cherished for its relaxing qualities.
  • Nerolidol
Nerolidol is a sedative terpene and in MMXX brings in earthy notes, as well. It has extremely relaxing and calming effects, which, when combined with the THC levels of MMXX, enhance the sedative nature of the plant.

Smoking Experience

We have heard some people call MMXX their “Couch o’clock” or “Now I lay me down to sleep” weed, as they know smoking it will have them glued to one spot or asleep before long.

With both a high THC level and a high cannabinoid level, MMXX isa great choice for an evening or bedtime smoke, but due to its potency, is not recommended for new smokers.  It’s a head high that is euphoric, but also a powerful hit to your productivity and energy levels. If you are looking for a deep relaxation and a gassy, earthy flavor, this is the strain for you.

Because of MMXX’s deep relaxation effect, we recommend trying it for possible help with:

  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Muscle relaxation needs (multiple sclerosis, stiff muscles)
